Police Release Name in Fatal Belfield Crash

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Richardton man who died in a crash last week. Patrick Moore, 73, was killed in a head-on collision Thursday night on Highway 85, 16 miles south of Belfield.

Moore was traveling south on the highway when a driver coming in the opposite direction, Mickenzie Robertson, 22, of Bowman, appeared to have drifted into Moore`s lane. Moore attempted to steer out of the way, but the vehicles struck each other head-on.

Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene. Robertson was injured and was transported to Dickinson by ambulance then flown to Trinity Hospital in Minot.

No charges have been filed at this time. The highway patrol is investigating the crash.
