USDA to Survey Montana Grain Farmers

| 8/13/2012

Small grain producers in Montana will be asked for their input on a USDA survey. During the first two weeks of September, the USDA`s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Montana field office will contact producers and gather information on their 2012 production and quantities of wheat, barley and oats stored on farm.

"As part of the September Agricultural Survey, we will contact more than 2,300 producers in Montana," said NASS Montana Field Office Director Steve Anderson. "the results of this survey will provide the basis for official USDA estimates on 2012 acreage, yield and production for small grains and county production estimates."

Producers will be able to either respond online or by mail. The results will be published in several reports.

For more information, call the NASS Montana Field Office at 1-800-835-2612.
