| 8/13/2012

A New Town man who was found guilty on several charges, including Sex Trafficking, Sexual Abuse, Drug Trafficking and Witness Tampering was sentenced to 45 years in prison today to be followed by supervised release for the rest of his life. Dustin Morsette, 22, was found guilty in U.S. District Court in April.

Morsette organized a criminal street gang named the Black Disciples to make money through drug trafficking and prostitution, based out of a home in New Town. Some gang members and associates were identified as members through tattoos and burn marks.

Morsette sexually abused six female victims, five of whom were between the ages of 12 and 16. He forced the adult woman he he had recruited for the gang into prostitution on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation and in Williston and Minot.

We will have more later today.
