Dickinson Area Regional Education Association to Roll Out Succeed 2020 Initiative

A Dickinson program will receive recognition from a statewide program aimed at helping North Dakota students prepare for college and future careers. The Dickinson area Regional Education Association`s (REA) Succeed 2020 initiative will be implemented today.

Succeed 2020 is a statewide program that was started by a $25 million grant from the Hess Corporation.

"Through Succeed 2020 we want to better prepare our students for post-secondary education and the workforce," said Lieutenant Governor Drew Wrigley. "I applaud the Dickinson area Regional Education Association`s commitment to educational excellence and I look forward to the advancements we can make through Succeed 2020."

The Roughrider Education Services Program received $500,000 for the first year of implementing Succeed 2020 programming. The educational programming will focus on career and college counseling; academic and career and technical education and student support services.

REAs in Bismarck, Devils Lake and Fargo have also been awarded Succeed 2020 grants this year.
