Bike Give Back | Video

Thursday night was the Ninth Annual Bob`s Bike and Backpack Give Back. An event held each year in honor of Daysun Gross, a young man who was killed in a drunk driving accident. The event promoted drinking and driving awareness and the importance of giving back.

A few hundred Minot residents turned out for the fun at Roosevelt Park. There was food music and speeches. Four hundred bikes, backpacks and coats were given out to Minot`s underprivileged kids.

And it was easy to see that all the hard work paid off.

"It`s just to bring awareness basically to drinking and driving, and the tragedy it can cause. It`s nice to see the support that the people have. One tragic event and it can bring so many people together for years, and years, and years," said Minot Senior Firefighter Paul Laskowski.

Many of the bikes and backpacks were bought by Bob Gross himself.
