Williston Construction Project Starts This Weekend

| 8/17/2012

A construction project that will take place on Highway 2 both outside and within the city limits of Williston will start this weekend. Starting on the evening of Sunday, August 19, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 11 miles north of Williston to 11th St. West.

The project will consist of roadway work and the placement of concrete at major intersections for increased traffic needs.

The NDDOT says that during the first phase of construction, traffic will be head to head for about a week while half of the intersections at 9th, 18th, 26th and 42nd will be rebuilt. In the second phase, traffic will be detoured the following week onto the new southbound lanes through town and switched to the northbound lanes just after Wal-Mart at County Road 7.

Meanwhile, work will begin on placing concrete white topping on the entire southbound lanes of US-2/Hwy 85 from the 13 mile corner heading south.
