Body Recovered from Missouri River

Bismarck police say a man`s body has been recovered from the Missouri River this afternoon. At around 4:00, a driver going across Memorial Bridge called 911 reporting he saw a body. Police received a second call from the area of Captain Freddy`s 12 minutes later.

The Morton County Dive Team responded and a witness on a jet ski secured the body while police arrived. The witness and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department brought the body to Marina Bay.

The man was wearing shorts. His body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner`s office where his identity will be confirmed.

Two and a half weeks ago, Gregory Fredericksen, 27, jumped into the river and dive teams were unable to recover his body at the time.
