Labor Day Gas Prices | Video

Henry Blakes | 8/30/2012

Labor Day is almost here and travelers are already hitting the road, but that doesn`t mean gas prices are getting any cheaper.

"I guess it is what it is and you have to pay if you want to go some place," said Bob, a Bismarck resident.

But the one thing everyone wants to know is: "Are there any chances of gas prices dropping?"

"I believe gas prices will hold pretty stable. I don`t see anything holding up travel for the Labor Day weekend. I think it`s going to be a huge weekend across North Dakota and the country," said Mike Rud with the North Dakota Propane Gas Association.

Gas prices may have increased over the past few weeks, but that`s not keeping travelers from hitting the streets this Labor Day.

"Last year we went up to northern Minnesota for vacation, but this year we had to cut back a little bit," said Clarence, an Ashley resident.

"I will probably stay a little closer to home, because filling up a mini-van is not cheap. Prices keep going up, so what can you do?" said Cindy, a Bismarck resident.

In the end, gas prices are not going to keep drivers from doing what they want to do or going where they want to go.

No matter how much you pay for gas, driving safely is still the most important thing.
