Minot Park Recovery | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 8/31/2012

A year after the flood, Minot Park District has been revamping and renovating the parks in the area. While some projects are well underway, some other projects are still in the planning stages.

The Park District is pleased to announce the completion of Oak Park. Since the flood, the park district has made lots of progress, like repairing the playgrounds and electrical wiring.

The work doesn`t stop at Oak Park. At Roosevelt Park, bridges need to be repaired, along with adding electrical work to the picnic shelters.

"On an aggressive schedule, we`re hoping to, over the winter we get a lot of work done, through the summer, next summer, we`ll be working through various areas, by the end of next year we should have the majority completed, said Executive Director Ron Merritt.

Merritt says there is still more work to be done. If you would like to volunteer, you can log on to minotparks.com.
