Locals Respond to Hotel Stabbing | Video

Amy Fox | 9/4/2012

We have more information about a stabbing that happened at a local hotel Monday. Minot Police were called to the Grand International Hotel on North Hill after getting a report of a stabbing Monday.

Hotel management says an employee noticed a man trying to break into vehicles. That`s when a hotel employee confronted the man and was stabbed with a sharp object.

While no major injuries were reported, some nearby neighbors are concerned about the increase in crime. But others are not worried.

"I have heard conversations, you know, that they don`t like Minot, that they`re going to move and I always say I`m going to stay,” said Minot resident Gayle Lawson. “I like it here. I love Minot.”

While hotel management declined an interview with KMOT, the entire staff at the hotel has been notified about the situation.

The suspect in the case is still at large.
