Breaking Ground on a New Clinic | Video

Michelle San Miguel | 9/6/2012

This morning, St. Alexius employees and community members broke ground on St. Alexius` new clinic in north Mandan. The eight million dollar facility is being built at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Old Red Trail, near the site of the new Walmart.

Kelvin Hullet, President of the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce, says the clinic will help Mandan maintain and grow its community.

"When businesses or even workers are thinking about moving to our area, they have a key set of questions that they ask. Usually the first question is how are the schools? What`s the graduation rate? Second question they ask is about healthcare. What`s the healthcare system like? Can I find the available services?"

The 22,000 square foot clinic will include a drive-thru retail pharmacy, a lab, and rehabilitation services. The clinic will employ about 30 people.

It`s expected to open in early 2014.
