Fargo Apartment Fire | Video

| 9/7/2012

Flames from an early morning fire in north Fargo could be seen from a mile away. Officials are looking for the cause of a two-alarm fire that destroyed a north Fargo apartment building under construction early this morning, and forced people of out nearby buildings.

It started around 4:30 this morning in the 1800 block of Dakota Drive, just a few blocks south of the NDSU campus.

An aerial ladder truck poured water onto a nearby four-story apartment building to protect it from the flames and as a precaution, police went door to door in the building, waking residents and told them to evacuate. Tenants were allowed to return about 90 minutes later.

That building was not damaged but some vehicles in the parking lot closest to the fire did have some heat damage.
