Youth Hockey Starting Up | Video

Jenny Castro | 9/15/2012

Youth sports are starting to transition into fall and many new families in the area are trying out hockey. The Minot Hockey Boosters held their annual Pancake Breakfast and Registration Saturday for their youth hockey programs.

Kids can start out as young as four and most want to keep playing once they have a chance to try it.

"He just likes to get out on the ice. He`s seen me play and he always wants to come out with me and he wanted to learn so we brought him here because he didn`t want to listen to me when I tried to teach him,” said hockey parent David Mackay.

The kids also rented out equipment for the season at the registration. The programs are more affordable for parents since they`re able to rent equipment for only $15 for the season.
