Memory loss is a common sign of the aging process, but in serious cases it can be a cause for concern, especially for those living with Alzheimer`s Disease. More than 19,000 people in North Dakota have been diagnosed with the disease. The Minnesota-North Dakota chapter of the Alzheimer`s Association held its annual walk to end Alzheimer`s on Saturday at the Bismarck Municipal Country Club.

About 400 people walked around the Tom O` Leary Golf Course to raise money and awareness about the disease.

"Forgetting where you put your keys are, we all do that once in a while, but it`s when you put your keys in the refrigerator you know and you find them there that`s one of the ten signs so there`s definitely different signs from normal aging to having Alzheimer`s or other dementias," said Sue Spalding, executive director of the MN-ND Alzheimer`s Association.

"Everyone`s different. Some people go faster. Everyone has different signs and different symptoms, but I mean it`s a tragic thing to see," said Kari Dobitz, who lost her grandmother to Alzheimer`s Disease.

Alzheimer`s Disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the country.
