Autumnfest Parade | Video

Alex Hagan | 9/22/2012

The sounds of marching bands filled the air on the capital grounds this morning marking the first day of autumn. If you were in or near downtown Bismarck this morning, then you probably heard the sound of trumpets and drums during the seventh annual Autumnfest parade.

This year`s acts featured bands from area high schools, clowns, tractors, and emergency vehicles. The theme of this years parade was "All About the Family."

"I think it was about 12 bands or so this year. It`s just great to see that and to see what all the schools come here to do you know and the different traditions you we have different traditions, Bismarck High School has different traditions, Century High School does, so it`s just a really neat thing," said St. Mary`s Band Director Luke Keller.

The parade started at the capitol and made its way down fifth street, ending at the Bismarck Civic Center.
