Mandan 5K Race | Video

Alex Hagan | 9/23/2012

Students at Mandan High School hosted a 5K race this afternoon at Faris Field. They raced around the track 12 times to raise money for the Children`s Miracle Network hospitals of North Dakota.

The school`s FCCLA chapter set a goal of raising $100,000 dollars to donate to the Children`s Miracle Network.

"One thing I will say about Mandan students is we have just excellent community participation. Anything that involves groups helping other people. We have had just awesome kids that have come out and stepped up and just done everything they can do. It`s an awesome thing as a teacher to be able to see students willing to put forth that effort," said FCCLA Advisor Kayla Kakela.

Students hosted another 5K race in February.
