The study also looked into shifting age distribution and the projected housing demand. It showed that the population of residents 65 and older are projected to increase by 52 percent.
The population of residents in the primary child bearing age of 25 to 44 are expected to go up by 42 percent.
The housing demand is expected to increase by 30 percent.
"In western North Dakota they`re going to see the vast majority of that growth. In region one which is the northwest part of the state about 169-percent increase in the need for housing units since 2010," said Michael Anderson with the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency.
Tomorrow Anderson, the Governor, the Mayor of Williston and others will address the report and outline recommendations for more affordable housing in the state.
