Minot Police have been busy lately, chasing down copper thieves.

Most of the cases reported have been copper piping from flood damaged homes that have been in repair.

And although the copper cases have diminished since the flood, Police are getting calls now that bundles of copper wire have been stolen.

"I do know that the value is up on it so it`s something that is in demand, they are paying for it so people are stealing it to make a quick dollar," says Sergeant Goodman of the Investigations Division.

Sergeant Goodman suggests if you see any suspicious activity, make note of any descriptions to better assist the officers to stop the thief.
