Hope Village Is Here To Stay | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 9/28/2012

You may have heard some rumors, that Hope Village is closing operations for the winter, but that is not the case.

Hope Village is just in a winter transition.

The volunteers are unable to stay on the camp grounds because they do not have access to the water or sewer lines.. but they can still get their equipment at the camp ground.

Four local churches will supply housing and the volunteers can use the showers at YMCA.

So although, the *base camp* will shut down.. The work to rebuild flood-damaged homes in minot will continue thru the winter months.

"There is no slow down for us, we will continue to, we will fly to the face of mother nature and continue to brighten people`s lives by helping finish their homes," says Hope Village Coordinator, Steve Carbno.

Carbno says the volunteers are staying on the job... until they are not needed anymore.
