Minot Drug Bust | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 10/1/2012

Drug use is on the rise in Minot, and a recent bust over the weekend is good evidence of that. Minot Police Department and the Ward County SWAT team executed a search warrant at 12:30 this morning at 110 4th Avenue Northwest.

Marijuana and meth paraphernalia were found inside the apartment. Police arrested Jeffrey Obrien, 40, and Trevor Poitra, 24. Both are from Minot.

Police say they aren`t shocked by the recent drug bust.

"Methamphetamine, we definitely, I think have noticed here in a recent trend it kinda declined here, a few years back, we weren`t seeing it here as much. We are starting to see more Methamphetamine out on the streets, traffic stops, things of that nature. Methamphetamine is coming back into the community a little bit more than it was before," said Cassidy Halseth of the Investigative Unit.

Minot PD says the case is still under investigation.
