Mandan Considering School Design | Video

Kristin Clouston | 10/1/2012

Mandan administrators say they`re doing their homework before building the new elementary school on the north side. The architect and engineer are working on a couple of options to make the best use of the property and keep with the flow of neighborhood traffic patterns.

They will present preliminary site plans to the district, city and park board in two weeks.

"What we are also going to be doing is taking a look at some of the designs from schools that have recently been built in the area and elsewhere in North Dakota. Just to make sure that we`re having our bases covered when we`re building a twenty-first century school" said assistant superintendent Jeff Lind.

Administrators hope to have the school completed by the fall of 2014.
