The Game and Fish Department is replacing a boat ramp on the Missouri River south of Mandan. This week, contractors began hauling and dumping heavy rock at the site. They`ll begin pouring the new slab later this week.

The new slab will require a week to dry before it can be put into place.

"We`re hopefully going to pour concrete at the end of this week. We`ll have to give that a week to get set up. So there`s be roughly plus or minus three weeks if everything goes right," said Fisheries Development Project Manager Wesley Erdle.

Workers have also replaced the electrical hook-ups and fixed the road at the campground, which remains closed. The boat ramp should be finished by the end of the month.
