| 10/4/2012

Most of western North Dakota lucked out last night, but the eastern part of the state got a good snowfall. That led to travel problems and power outages.

About 6,500 people in the Fargo area were without power for a couple of hours early this morning. The National Weather Service says three and a half inches of snow had fallen in Grand Forks by 8:30 a.m. At Fargo`s airport, sustained winds reached 25 to 35 miles per hour, with 45 mile per hour gusts.

The Department of Ttransportation has issued a travel alert for the region.
