Mandan Democrats Energized for Elections | Video

Democrats in Mandan are gearing up for Election Day, they held a fundraiser breakfast at the Mandan Eagles Club Sunday morning. Democrats say among their priorities this election are electing legislators who will work to make sure the state provides adequate funding for childcare services and housing development.

Republicans hold a nearly three to one majority in the state legislature. But Democrats at the breakfast say they`re hoping to change that.

"I think right now there`s a lot of Republicans in our legislature and having more Democrats in there, particularly more female representatives brings a different point of view on all issues I think anyway," said organizer Mary Splichal.

All three seats in District 34 are up for grabs this election. Republicans currently hold all of those seats.
