Party in Pink for a Cure | Video

Michelle San Miguel | 10/13/2012

A pink fire truck was parked in downtown Bismarck Saturday afternoon catching the attention of many strolling by the shops. People were encouraged to sign the fire truck and leave messages for those who`ve had cancer or are currently struggling with it. Several downtown businesses came together to organize the event, coined Pink-Out Saturday.

Participating businesses will donate a portion of Saturday`s sales to the Bismarck Cancer Center.

"I know that cancer affects so many people that I guess I just really want to be able to give back. If I`m not serving in some way or another, I guess what`s the point?," said Susan Schwieters, owner of Lilians of Bismarck.

With winter coming, the pink fire truck is in need of a home. If you have a possible storage unit you`d want to rent out contact Guardians of the Ribbon- North Dakota Chapter. For more information visit: www.facebook.com/PinkHealsNorthDakota.
