Law Enforcement Housing | Video

Jennifer Joas | 10/22/2012

There is $1.1 million heading to western North Dakota to subsidize housing for law enforcement. This is in combination with previously funded projects through the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency that total three million dollars. This funding would go directly towards one housing unit in Crosby, two in Killdeer, two in Minot, one in Ray and six in Williston.

North Dakota received the money from a national mortgage settlement. But three million dollars is all they had.

"I think the next legislature will need to look at this program. It`s a pilot project. And need to determine if this is the same kind of thing we need to do on a broader basis," said North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenejem.

The first project nearing completion is in Dickinson with six units scheduled to open in March.
