Voters sometimes need to ask themselves how big of a role religion plays in an election, and their decision.
Kari Williamson, the Campus Pastor at Minot State University says its up to the individual person to determine how and if their faith will influence their civic duties.
“There`s not just a sentence or five words that I can give people advice to say because you`re a person of faith you need to do X, Y, and Z to fulfill your civic duty, and I think it`s very dangerous when we have faith communities saying that.”
Pastor Williamson also says it`s not unusual for people who have similar religious views to vote for different candidates.
