Surrey Fire | Video

Fire crews and police were on the scene of a fire that has completely destroyed two camper trailers in Surrey. The call went out at about 7:30 this evening, when emergency crews arrived on the scene off of Pleasant Avenue, one trailer was completely engulfed and a nearby camper had extensive damage.

Officials were also worried about the possibility of an explosion from propane tanks on the scene. Homes in the area were evacuated, just as a precaution.

“Basically we’re going to start an investigation, myself with the fire chief, we’re going to try and determine if it was mechanical error, or a wiring error, of if it was purposely started,” said Surrey Police Chief Pete Schneider.

Police say five people were living inside the trailer, working at a near-by construction site. None of them were home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured. Surrey fire officials say both trailers were a complete loss.
