Mandan Considers New Hotel | Video

Joel Porter | 10/29/2012

By this time next year, Mandan may have a new hotel just off the interstate. Mandan`s growth fund committee has recommended giving a five-year tax exemption for a 86 room Comfort Inn. The $8.5 million hotel would be built along Sunset Drive and 27th street northwest, across from the middle school.

That`s just a few blocks from where developers are building a new Walmart.

"In terms of visibility and access, I think it`s a great location and so we`re very pleased to see the investment and look forward to more of the same," said Business Development Director Ellen Huber.

The city commission will consider granting almost $600,000 in tax breaks to the Comfort Inn at next week`s meeting.
