Minot Man Sentenced for Assaulting Federal Officer

A Minot man will serve two years in federal prison on a charge of assaulting and resisting a federal officer. Vincent Anderson, 34, pleaded guilty to the charge in June.

In March, Anderson was in the Belcourt area when the vehicle he was in was pulled over by a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer. When the officer attempted to detain Anderson, he hit the officer in the face.

Anderson will have two years of supervised release following his prison time. He will also have to pay $625.45 in restitution and a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim`s Fund.
