"When I got out in Washington, the barrier and the problem was the U.S. Senate. So that`s really why I decided to run for the Senate, because if I were going to do the things that I want to see done for America, the Senate has to change," Berg said during yesterday`s interview.
"He talks about this gridlock and the lack of compromise and that`s coming from somebody thats voted the party line every single time," said ND Dem NPL Communications Director Rania Batrice.
"I know with John and I there, like in North Dakota. We can stabilize the taxes and regulation and encourage energy development like we`ve done in North Dakota," Berg said during yesterday`s interview.
"He`s kind of out of touch with the needs and wants of North Dakotans. He`s kind of gone Washington on us. It was very surprising when he was asked about western North Dakota, he just still seems like he didn`t have a plan. And the plan he has talked about, he actually took from Heidi. So we appreciate that endorsement but it would be nice to see some original thoughts of his own on that," Batrice said.
"Well I think they`re both talented and knowledgeable. I think hopefully we`ll have a change in leadership," said Bismarck resident Kathy Nordquist.
Berg`s opponent, Heidi Heitkamp, appeared on First News at Five last week.
