Fatal Crash Near Sawyer

A Velva man is dead after the van he was riding in collided with a pickup on Highway 52 near Sawyer this morning. Shortly after 11:00 the van, which was traveling from Minot to Voltaire, met the pickup, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The pickup slid into the path of the van. The driver of the van, Joseph Kriedeman, 41, of Voltaire, tried to avoid a collision but ended up hitting a trailer that the pickup was towing.

Kreideman and the driver of the pickup Darin Clark, 38, from Minot were injured. The 51 year old passenger in the van was killed.

The NDHP has not released the name of the passenger. The crash is under investigation.
