With the first significant snowfall, there were numerous car accidents and crashes throughout the day. This morning there was a one car rollover on Highway 83 south of Minot. Because of the snow, the driver lost control and rolled once into the ditch. Fortunately, he was fine.

Later Along Highway 52 near Sawyer, there was a two car accident in which a 51 year old man was killed.

The Highway Patrol wants to stress the need for safety on days like today.

“This one vehicle roll over here is the first crash we had in this area today, with the on coming of winter weather fast approaching us, this is a good reminder to try and slow down. Allow a little more time to get to their destination, and arrive safe”, said trooper Michael Rourke.

According to local law enforcement, there were over 30 injury and property accidents today.
