Assault Victim Dies, Police Investigating as Homicide

A Bismarck man has died after he was assaulted at a house party in Mandan last week, and police are now investigating it as a homicide. The assault happened at 407 First Street Northeast in Mandan on October 27th. Derek Oshkeshequoam, 30, died this weekend.

An autopsy has been scheduled for today. He was taken to the hospital by two men, who then left the hospital. Detectives were able to identify the men, as well as several other witnesses.

Police say detectives also found and interviewed a 23-year-old man accused of striking the victim.
