| 11/6/2012

A commander at the Minot Air Force Base has been relieved. According to a press release from the Air Force, Colonel Stephen H. Williams, commander of the 91st Maintenance Group, was relieved on Monday following an investigation of administrative processes under his direction.

"Providing a safe, secure and effective nuclear deterrent is foundational to our nation`s security," said Maj. Gen. Michael J. Carey, commander of 20th Air Force. "We must have absolute confidence in our Airmen and the weapons they employ every day to deter adversaries and assure our friends."

Williams was not relieved for any alleged misconduct or wrongdoing.

The commander of Air Force Global Strike command supported the decision and added that the Airmen have met or exceeded standards throughout recent exercises, inspections and staff visits.
