Attorney General Warns of Computer Scam

Kevin Stanfield | 11/8/2012

The State Attorney General`s Office wants to warn everyone about a computer virus scam that`s been going around lately. In this one, a window pops up on your computer screen and tells you that your computer is now under the control of the FBI or some other governmental agency, because you`ve been linked to illegal downloads like music, videos or pornography.

You are then instructed to pay a fine by signing up for a Moneypak card. Once the bad guys get the number off that Moneypak card they can access your money.

The AG`s office says the only way to get the virus out of your computer is to take it to a professional and then make sure you have good anti-virus software installed.
