Alyssa Marino has what`s trending this week on social media and locally.

The election may be over, but the people are still talking about it. Especially on Twitter. #Election2012 led Twitter to become what some are calling, "a Nationwide Caucus." From midnight to 2:00 am on election night, there were 6.4 million tweets using that hash tag. By 6:45 pm CT, there were over 11 million.

Also, according to Twitter, there were 3,000 tweets a minute using #iVoted. For some really crazy numbers, at 10:16 pm CT, President Obama broke the news of his re-election via Twitter with three little words: "Four more years." By 11:25, just 9 minutes later, it had 128,469 re-tweets. These numbers make election night the most tweeted event in U.S. political history.

Lately in the news, we`ve been talking about women taking over. For instance, Heidi Heitkamp made history by being the first woman elected to the Senate from North Dakota.

Women aren`t just filling up seats in Congress, they`re also filling out football jerseys too. Here`s a video of 9 year old Sam Gordon from Salt Lake City. She is the definition of #GirlPower. Gordon is the quarterback for an area youth football team and is not afraid to take a hit. This YouTube video of her already has well over a million hits in just a couple of days! Our anchor Alan Miller would love this, Gordon says she found her love for football after attending a Brigham Young University game, Miller`s alma-mater.
