Staying Updated With NDDOT Cameras | Video

Henry Blakes | 11/9/2012

Before taking a chance on potentially slippery roads, the Department of Transportation says it`s best to know before you go. Highway cameras are set up throughout the state. The images are updated frequently so you can see how the roads look before leaving home.

The DOT is encouraging drivers to check out the travel information page during hazardous weather conditions.

This can help reduce accidents and allow you to find an alternate route if necessary.

"We installed about 25 cameras within the last year. We put them into the intersections where we want to know what`s going on with those conditions," said Russ Buchholz with the NDDOT.

The NDDOT plans to install cameras near Portal and Marmarth sometime soon. You can find the link to the highway cameras by visiting the weather page on any one of our websites.
