There are a few new places to shop in town and some old ones that have moved. A funky little shop that`s worth the stop is now in a new spot. The original owner of Urban Girl had planned to close the store, and gave up the lease on its downtown location. Then, Linda Mittlestadt, who had been managing the store for five years, decided to buy the bead store and move it into a new building on North 11th Street.

"We wanted to find just the right location. We didn`t want to just plop Urban Girl down just anywhere. We wanted a home and we did find what I think is a good home for us," she said.

The store is open just in time for Black Friday shopping, with discounts available throughout the day.

The first life insurance company to be based in North Dakota in decades is offering a new living benefit life insurance plan. Dakota Capital Life opened in June, and say the plan can be a good supplemental retirement plan, especially for anyone who is self-employed.

Several new retail stores have opened in Kirkwood Mall. One is rue21, a teen fashion retailer. The store boasts an affordable, broad assortment of the newest emerging fashion trends in clothing and accessories.
