New Town Shootings | Video

Amy Fox | 11/19/2012

Grief and shock in New Town tonight after a weekend shooting spree left four people dead. The shootings happened Sunday afternoon after a man broke into a woman`s home and opened fire.

Martha Johnson, 64, was found dead at the scene, along with her three grandchildren, Benjamin, Julia, and Luke Schuster. A 12-year-old brother was able to call 911, but wasn’t hurt.

Officials say later on in the evening, an unidentified person of interest in the case committed suicide in Parshall while he was being questioned by a sheriff’s deputy and a highway patrol trooper.

New Town is a small town now faced with some big city problems that only the community can handle together.

"This community has to pull together and start thinking our kids it`s a wake up call for everybody to do what`s right,” said resident Kelly Hosie.

The FBI is now in charge of the investigation and it says there is no danger to the public at this time.
