Day of Love at MAFB | Video

Love was the word of the day at the Minot Air Force Base. The base held it`s 43rd annual Day of Love today. It`s an event where airman serve Thanksgiving dinner to the city`s senior citizens.

The idea behind the Day of Love was to bridge the gap between the community and members of the military who may not have family to spend the holidays with. The airman felt that it was an honor to serve their community.

“It`s always a privilege to be here and I love hearing all the old war stories from the past and it`s great because of the joy on their faces when they`re telling you about their stories is amazing. So its touching, very touching”, said Senior Airman Kelso, one of the event volunteers.

Over one hundred and seventy Senior Citizens were brought to the base for the Day of Love event.
