Fargo Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

A Fargo man pleaded guilty today to child pornography charges. John Robert Ehlen, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors and three counts of possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

Internet Crimes Against Children officers discovered that Ehlen was offering child pornography files over the internet. A search of his residence found over 200,000 images and 500 videos of child pornography. Some of the children depicted were as young as three and four years old.

The charge of receipt of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors carries a maximum of 20 years in prison imprisonment with a minimum
of five years in prison. The charges of possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors each have a maximum sentence of ten years.

Ehlen will be sentenced in February.
