Hope for the Holidays | Video

Kristin Clouston | 12/6/2012

Often women flee from abusers with their children and the clothes on their back. The Abused Adult Resource Center in Bismarck provides emergency support, counseling and temporary shelter to these families. Each December, the center holds a "Hope for the Holidays" event. It`s where people, businesses and churches adopt families that have received services.

Donors can also leave items at the distribution site by the theatre entrance in Gateway Mall.

"We`re looking for household items, cleaning supplies, toiletries, decorative items, grocery store and gas gift cards, toys for the kids, books, art supplies all new and unused items," said coordinator Katie Oliver.

If you want to adopt a family, call 222-8370 or stop by the AARC office. You can also leave cash donations.
