WPX Makes Housing Incentive Fund Donation | Video

Jessica Roose | 12/11/2012

An energy exploration and production company in New Town has made a substantial donation to the state`s Housing Incentive Fund. Representatives from WPX Energy presented a $100,000 check to the fund and designated the donation to benefit the Fort Berthold Reservation. The fund has now received more than $11 million in donations and needs to reach its cap of $15 million by December 31 to complete remaining affordable housing projects.

"We`ve committed 26 projects. That`s going to facilitate 739 units being developed of multi family unity and it`s investing $104 million into affordable housing in North Dakota," said ND Housing Finance Agency Director Mike Anderson.

More than 350 projects have been stalled because of the gap in the fund. Those who contribute will receive a dollar for dollar tax credit on their tax return.

For more information on the fund, including how to donate, go to www.ndhousingincentivefund.org.
