Williston School Bond Fails

Evan Kruegel | 12/12/2012

The Williston School District 1 bond referendum has failed. The district released the final tally this morning, which showed 551 yes votes to 1,415 no votes. That means nearly 72 percent of the 1,966 voters voted against it. The referendum would have given the district up to $55 million to spend on various projects, including the construction of a brand new middle school, renovation of an existing elementary school and updates to the high school.

The district has said they will go back to the planning board to try and come up with another solution to their fiscal needs.
