Arrest Made in Relation to MAFB Threat

Kevin Stanfield | 12/21/2012

One person is behind bars after calling in a threat yesterday to Minot Air Force Base. No word on when the arrest happened but officials say the suspect was taken into custody in California after local, state and federal authorities conducted their investigation. The case has now been turned over to the FBI.

The threat initiated the lockdown of two elementary schools, a middle school and a head start facility on the base.

"We take any and all threats seriously," said Col. James Dawkins Jr., 5th Bomb Wing Commander. "We will continue to work with Minot Public Schools to ensure the safety of our schools and people."

The schools are still closed today. The name of the person arrested has not yet been released.
