School Cancellations | Video

All Minot Public school classes were cancelled today in response to yesterday`s Air Force Base threat and the continued circulation of Internet rumors about guns being brought into the schools.

Superintendent Mark Vollmer initiated the cancellations at all of the schools on base and public schools in Minot, just as a precaution. But the cancellation is getting mixed reviews.

"I`d say they did an okay job, I guess, to protect the youth and what not but like what is today, Friday. I`d say everybody just gets a three day, more, weekend," said Lucas Holzapfel.

"I guess we`re kinda putting ourselves in a situation where we`re letting somebody control us. They think they got some power over you. I suppose I don`t know. I have three kids in the elementary school so I guess as a parent I guess I was glad to see they shut it down and took precautions on that part," said Mark Gathman.

The scheduled make up day will be on March 28.
