Salvation Army Distribution | Video

Julie Leonardi | 12/21/2012

The holidays are a time for giving and no one knows that better than Minot`s Salvation Army. Today the organization distributed food and gift baskets to families in the MSU Dome. People receiving donations applied last month by proving low income or high living expenses. They also received toys, clothes, and a gift card to Market place foods.

“It`s part of Christmas for me, I grew up doing this with parents and now I do it. I`m not sure what Christmas would be without this part but it certainly helps to put it in perspective for what Christmas is about by helping others make sure they have enough,” said Salvation Army Captain Teri Nauta.

The organization is still in need of monetary donations and volunteers. Both have been extremely low compared to the past three years. Nauta says people may not realize the Christmas donations are meant to last the whole year.
