Active Shooter Training | Video

A mass shooting at a public building used to be an unthinkable event. But it`s become all too common, and is causing many companies to re-work their safety plans. The North Dakota Safety Council announced a new training session, in response to requests from schools, corporate offices and other member businesses, to teach them what to do if someone comes in to their building and begins firing.

The Active Shooter Survival Training covers early detection, response to workplace violence, and awareness.

"Recent events have shown us that churches and daycare centers, schools, are all at risk but we also know that hospitals, government agencies, churches could all benefit from training like this," said Serena Schmit with the North Dakota Safety Council.

The training is on January 17 at Bismarck State College. The North Dakota Safety Council says they`ve already had several groups sign up.
