Minot Police Assault | Video

A Minot police officer was injured after responding to a domestic dispute at an apartment building on Christmas Eve. Police arrived on the scene after getting a call from the victim`s son. A man became resistant with an officer and hit him in the face causing injury to his eye.

The Minot Police Department says officers are called to many situations like these and attempt to calm everyone down and make sure no one gets hurt.
“We go to great lengths in the training of our officers to enable them to use a minimum amount of force to resolve a situation and protect themselves and protect everybody else involved. But they will use the amount of force necessary to bring the confrontation to a close,” said Sergeant Larry Haug.

Haug added that if an officer is injured by an individual, they will be charged and prosecuted.
